Safety Skills Training

These courses have been written by us, combining years of experience. They are of the same standard as accredited courses. The courses below focus on a specific subject, rather than being about health and safety as a general subject, as is the case with many accredited courses.
Our DSE course is recognised by the Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors (formally The Ergonomics Society).
This one-day course will enable you to assess computer workstations to comply with the Display Screen Equipment Regulations, and to provide staff with information to make their workstation more productive (and healthy!)
In October 2006 the law changed - there is no such thing as a fire safety certificate - you are required by law (Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005) to have a fire risk assessment carried out on your building, maintain a fire management plan, and train and appoint fire marshals or wardens.
Every week 20 tradesmen die from asbestos-related disease. If you carry out work on a building that was built or refurbished before the year 2000, you could have been exposed to asbestos, without even knowing it. Asbestos is a hidden killer. So now's the time to get clued up on the facts, so that you, your workmates, your friends and family are protected.
The responsible person within a company must appoint safety assistants (fire marshals or wardens) to assist them in taking preventative and protective measures and those persons must be provided with suitable training to enable them to carry out their duties. This half day course includes a practical session on the use of fire extinguishers.
You may be new to COSHH assessments and so you are looking for the skills to complete them accurately and efficiently OR you have some experience of carrying out these assessments but your knowledge needs updating to take account of changes to Regulations and new methodologies.
This course is designed to raise awareness of how stress affects the well being and performance of staff, managers and the organisation. Delegates will learn what is stress, how we can recognise it, what causes it and how we can reduce it; how we can manage it from an organisational point of view.
